The Torsion treeless saddles are handmade in Italy and are a registered trademark.

The Torsion saddle takes its concept from the Bardella saddle, a treeless type of saddle used by Italian shepherds of Tuscany of the 19th century.

Originally designed, developed and tested nearly 20 years ago by Sergio Tommasi, World Championship Endurance rider and chief d’equipe of the national endurance team, today’s Torsion saddles not only demonstrate beautiful craftsmanship and Italian design but also an exceptional system backed up by countless hours of testing, research, European quality standards and HighTech materials, and safety technology.

Torsion uses a variety of materials from all over the world but chooses those with the highest qualities like the fine Italian leathers, the German SympaNova material for pads, girths and saddle bases or Biothane from the USA.

The company is dedicated and passionate about their work. Torsion always seeks to improve their products and puts the horse 1st. This is why I chose to work with them!

Making the saddles

Every saddle models, every accessories, every materials are heavily tested by their horses in collaboration with the Veterinary University of Perugia and Bologna- the departments of Special Horse Clinics (Hospital) and international professional riders.

The company does not simply sell saddles. They construct saddles to allow horses to move freely while protecting them from the rider’s weight without compromising with the rider’s comfort and safety!

It might seems strange to point this out, but far too many saddles arrive on the market with only very little thoughts for the horses’ bio-mechanics or rider safety. The Western model for example, was tested for one and half year before landing on the market. Torsion wants you and your horse to have a dream saddle for many years to come. They are close to their customers and their lifetime recurring needs. Your changing needs are always addressed.

Because no one knows the Torsion system better than Torsion themselves, I closely work with Torsion to give you a saddle that fits you and your horse. As your needs evolve in the future, Torsion and I will provide you support and solutions so you have a saddle that will fit your horse as he grows and changes body shape, for many years to come.
