Acupressure for horses
Acupressure (a blend of "acupuncture" and "pressure") is a complementary medicine technique derived from acupuncture. In acupressure, physical pressure is applied to acupuncture points of the horse, using hands or a device. I use a unit called Pointer Plus Excel II, which delivers a micro-current to stimulate the acupressure points. It is non-invasive and safe. In some instances, I may also use acupuncture and moxa (moxibustion), which are traditional Chinese medicine techniques to intensify or sedate Qi, the vital force in every living beings, including horses.
