Services - Equissage and massage for horses

Why not treat your horse with a release massage? A horse is a magnificent living being with a strong body built for speed and strength. We are able to ride horses and some become athletes, others work for us and the lucky ones spend their life happily grazing. Never the less, the horse body, like ours, becomes sore and aches after a long day of work or play.

I use a technique I call Release Massage which is based on the Masterson Technique. It is a combination of several techniques and takes its basis from acupressure technique using points and meridians specific to Traditional Chinese Medicine. To this, I have added healing touch to discover the affected areas, traditional aromatherapy massage, deep tissue massage and Reiki, making the entire technique quite effective.

I work with the horse, not against him. I use my hands to find the tender regions on his body and the horse tells me, through various signs and animal communication, where he needs release in his body. This allows me then to free the tension by using various levels of pressure and techniques from acupressure. The horse will clearly indicate when the problem has been dissipated. In certain cases, acupuncture and moxibustion will be used to energesise and activate the Qi.

Horses are highly receptive to touch, feeling, the atmosphere around them and the energy people emanate. It is this sensitivity I utilise to help them with their physical aches.

The benefits are many and the results can be seen straight away.Your horse will feel relaxed and free of tension, which will allow you to enjoy the work you two do together.

During a session, you will be able to see how your horse releases his own stress and improvement in his movements can be seen straight away.

And if you want to, I will also show you how to use your hands to help your horse. This is useful when you are at a show and you can feel your horse needs to loosen up before you enter the ring.
